Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) is a white powder, odorless, tasteless and nontoxic, which dissolves in cold water to form a transparent viscous solution.

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose has the functions of thickening, bonding, dispersing, emulsification, film forming, suspension, adsorption, gelation, surface activity, moisturizing and colloid protection.

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is widely used in building materials, coatings, synthetic resins, ceramics, medicine, textiles, agriculture, cosmetics and other industries. According to the use, HPMC can be divided into: building layer, food layer, pharmaceutical layer.
